Within the heart of electrical systems pulses the transformer doing its job of converting electricity into useful energy. There are many types and classes of transformers being used. Some of the more familiar types are: power, distribution, network, radial, lighting, station and those of special purpose design.

As with all operating equipment, proper maintenance is necessary to ensure full utilization of critical operations and achieve operational effectiveness. Basic cleaning, scheduled preventive maintenance, oil and/or electrical testing and repairs are crucial to transformer operation and life span. Transformers can and do fail, often causing catastrophic power failure, loss of business revenue and even more.

UPES personnel have preformed services on each type and class of equipment using prescribed procedures and modern equipment. And, as always, safety and customer needs are prime considerations.

TESTING: UPES offers all the necessary testing to properly maintain equipment. The tests help to insure proper operation as well as help reveal conditions that potentially could cause serious problems.

REPAIRING: Repairs are also an important part of the total service offered. Items such as bushing re-gasketing and replacement, leak repair, LTC repair; oil processing and more. And, for those with PCB’s, turnkey disposal and spill cleanup is also offered.

TURNKEY SERVICES: Turnkey replacement, equipment upgrade, system upgrade, and new installations are an integral part of the services provided. Some services offered include: Design and engineering; project management; providing equipment; installation; on-line monitoring start-up and much more.

To be of assistance, UPES offers technical services to those customers having in-house personnel and/or qualified contractors performing new, replacement or upgrade transformer work. Most frequent services requested are commissioning, acceptance testing and start-up.
